This month we will have two engaging workshops.
First Brian Dean will present Mnemonics and Synonyms instructing participants on how to use mnemonic devices to help students remember when to use what synonyms. Then Kathleen Kelley will share a number of activities that she uses in the classroom in her presentation Activities that Get You Moving.
Following the presentations chapter elections will be conducted. If you would like to be considered for chapter office please fill out this form.

Jeju Chapter Fall Workshop

Join us on Saturday, November 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. when we will be hosting a free teacher training workshop led by Emanuel Serra that you don't want to miss!
This workshop will be a hands-on, non-stop run-through of as many of Emanuel's most popular ESL classroom practice games as can be accommodated in an hour. Bring your sneakers! We'll be moving around a fair bit.
Emanuel Serra is a long-time ESL instructor in Korea. Running his own tutoring business out of east Jeju, he leads classes for pre-kindy through middle school, as well as custom courses for local businesses.

Bylaws update
The KOTESOL Bylaws (not Constitution) were amended at the 2014 KOTESOL Annual Business Meeting, but somehow that amendment was never incorporated into the text.
It is now. Bylaws Article X. Amendments.
These Bylaws may be amended by a three-fifths (3/5) majority majority vote of the members present at an ABM, provided that written notice of the proposed changes has been endorsed by at least five (5) members in good standing and has been distributed to all members at least thirty (30) days prior to the vote.

Conference Demographics

The figures listed below are not very scientific, but represent some attempt at profiling our annual international conference attendees. Many attendees resist collection of demographics*, and others are hard to classify due to the nature of their teaching positions, perhaps working in more than one workplace, with diverse learners. The distinction between Koreans and "native-speakers" is particularly challenging, considering the vagueness of that term and the fact that many of our members have Korean names and foreign passports.

Sunday Service with Chuck Sandy at International Conference 2015
Join plenary speaker Chuck Sandy and the Christian Teachers SIG from 8:15 to 8:45 on Sunday morning in Room 322 for an ecumenical time of fellowship, prayer, reflection, and celebration.
