Busan-Gyeongnam

Well, hello there!

Are you looking for a place to network and professionally develop as an English teacher? Are you looking to be part of an organization that seeks to support and develop the skills of fellow English educators?

If no, there are no hard feelings, and I would still like to welcome you to the page for the Busan-Gyeongnam Chapter of KOTESOL. I would also like to direct you to KOTESOL's About Us page where you may find the answer you seek or at least learn about us as a group at the national level.

If YES, you have come to the right place, and I would like to welcome you to the official page for the Busan-Gyeongnam Chapter of KOTESOL. As a chapter, we have monthly meetings that vary in content. For those of you who enjoy food for thought, we have presenters who share information and research that keeps us up to date on the current state of affairs in the field of English education; these range from topics on grammar and conversation to technology and culture. If you are more interested in finding activities for your classes and learning certain skills, we also have meetings that are more hands-on such as workshops, idea swaps, and reflective practices where we share what has been useful, what works for our students, and how we can do better. Maybe you are new to South Korea and looking to find some like-minded souls. Since we believe in a healthy work-life balance (in a field that tips the scales more towards the working side of life), we also offer opportunities to socialize.

Are you someone who wants to volunteer, present and share ideas and activities, or build leadership skills? Are you lacking conferences in your life? We have you covered and can point you in the right direction, should you want any of these things. Whether you are a soon-to-be teacher, new to teaching, or have been grinding at it for years now, we like to think we have something to offer.

Our mission is to help each other become better teachers. If that sounds like something you can get on board with, please feel free to come to some of our free meetings and consider becoming a KOTESOL member and supporting us.

If you would like more information please feel free to email bgkotesol@gmail.com. You may also join our Facebook group, or sign up for our Monthly Newsletter.

Hope to see you in the future,

Anika Casem

(Busan-Gyeongnam Chapter President)
