Research Paper of the Year Announced

The KOTESOL Publications Committee and the Korea TESOL Journal are happy to inform one and all that the recipient of the KOTESOL Research Paper of the Year Award was formally announced at the closing ceremony of the 28th Korea TESOL International Conference, which finished its ten-day run last evening (February 28).

January 2021 - Let's Get 2021 Started!

January was welcomed with open arms and actually became a firm foundation for Yongin and other Chapters as our chapter and the organization embarks into the year of 2021.

On January 9th, the Yongin chapter held an "open-ended" and "unconference-like" event that invited attendees to contribute ideas in a lively session of dedicated educators. Everyone happily said 'see-ya-later-2020'! As a point of focus, the topic was centered around the version 2.0 podcast. (Which is looking for a name! Please feel free to email a suggestion!!) Other chapters also held events throughout the month...

TEC Article Series - Reflective Practice

The Publications Committee has added yet another compilation of past articles from The English Connection. This latest addition to the Article Series is the Reflective Practice column, penned by reflective practice guru Dr. Thomas S.C. Farrell of Brock University. This highly insightful series consists of 20 articles appearing the The English Connection in the 2015-2020 time period.

TEC - The Winter 2020 Issue Now Online

Busan-Gyeongnam 2021 Chapter Officer Elections

To all members of Busan-Gyeongnam KOTESOL Chapter:

It's time to elect our chapter council officers! Nominations for positions are open until Sunday, November 14. Online voting be open until Sunday, November 21.  Our election results will be announced shortly after and our council officers will have an online meeting via Zoom in the last week of November to discuss chapter goals for 2021/2022.  Any current KOTESOL member in the Busan-Gyeongnam chapter is encouraged to apply for a position.  Fill out the google form below and send a photo to bgkotesolpres@gmail.com.

Online Ballot Invitations Sent

Online ballot invitations for the 2020 KOTESOL National Elections were sent October 1st at approximately 8:20am.

Please check your spam filters if you you are a current Korea TESOL member and have not received your message from Survey Monkey (with secondary email address admin@koreatesol.org)

This online ballot closes at 11:59pm Saturday, October 31, 2020.

Memberships that expire before October 1st 2020 (e.g., annual memberships taken out before or at last year's International Conference) are not eligible to vote until a new membership (extension) has been processed....

Annual Business Meeting & Proposed Amendments to the Bylaws

In accordance with the KOTESOL Constitution and Bylaws, KOTESOL will be holding the Annual Business Meeting (ABM) online on Sunday, November 1. All members are invited to attend! Reports on KOTESOL’s past year will be given, and election results will be announced.

Also at the ABM, proposed amendments to the KOTESOL Constitution and Bylaws may be voted on by all members in attendance. Prior to the submission deadline, we have received two Bylaws amendment proposals with the requisite endorsements (see PDF below). They are being made available to the membership here and via KOTESOL...

AsiaTEFL 2020 Registration Opens!

Korea TESOL is collaborating with AsiaTEFL on the AsiaTEFL 2020 International Conference (Nov. 27-29; Goyang, Gyeonggi-do). In doing so, KOTESOL members can enjoy the low AsiaTEFL member registration rates.

The lowest registration rates are the early-bird rates, and early-bird registration has just opened. Even lower rates for primary/secondary school teachers and students (bachelor's, master's, doctorate).
