Annual Business Meeting and Bylaws Vote
KOTESOL's Annual Business Meeting for 2013 will be held Sunday, October 13th in Gemma Hall (Sookmyung University), 4-6pm.
Results from this year's elections, Reports, and proposed Bylaws Amendment are included.

Pre-registration Confirmations

All who have successfully completed the #kotesol conference pre-registration process have been sent a confirmation email from admin@koreatesol.org
It is suggested that you bring a copy of this email to the conference.
If you have not received a confirmation email, but believe you should have, please:
check your spam folder, and be sure to add admin@koreatesol.org to your "safe sender" (not spam) list. login to your KOTESOL account, visit your profile and click on Orders to see completed transactions. http://koreatesol.org/user/ if you cannot find your confirmation,...No ATM at conference

Unfortunately, there is no ATM (bank machine) on the Sookmyung campus.*
KOTESOL cannot accept credit or debit cards for your conference registration or membership dues.
We srongly recommend you visit the bank on the way in - there are several banks on the way from the subway stations.
(Although many book vendors will accept credit cards, some smaller shops might not be able to away from their physical home store.)
* there is a small machine on the 2nd campus (across the street) but it quickly runs out of cash.
Online Voting Update (2013)

72 additional e-ballots were sent prior to Oct 5 for those whose new/renewed membership had been processed between Sept 20 / Oct 1.
Those who haven't received an e-ballot, but renewed/joined on or before October 1, 2013, should send an email to elections@koreatesol.org
Those who renewed/joined after October 1 may vote at the conference venue.

Please find attached the Bylaws Amendment proposal which should have been attached to the ABM notice of Sept 13.
The secretary apologises for the lateness of this document dealing with proposed bylaw amendments, to be discussed at the 13th of October ABM. No intentional concealment was intended, and as the issue is a sensitive one, where the council wishes to be as open as possible in such matters, please consider the issues carefully in preparation for the ABM, where this can be discussed more fully.

History of KOTESOL (International) Conferences

KOTESOL has hosted an annual autumn international conference since our founding in 1993 (and even earlier, through predecessor organizations).
In early years, the autumn conference was titled simply "National Conference." We re-labeled it "International Conference" (short form: "IC") to represent the high level of international flavor: over 20% of our conference presenters fly in for the conference!

대한영어교육학회(KOTESOL) 학술대회의 정보 (‘Factoids’)
1993년 10월 16~17일 전라북도 익산시(당시 이리시) 원광대학교에서 대한영어교육학회(KOTESOL/코테솔)의 창립 기념으로 1회 학술대회가 개최되었다. 코테솔학회가 창립된 이 후 해마다 학술대회를 여는데 이번 해는 코테솔학회의 21회 가을학술대회이다(1993~2013). 코테솔학회 국제 학술대회는 한국에서 매해 열리는 영어교육학술대회 중에서 규모가 가장 크다. 1993년 약 200명의 영어선생님이 참석하였고, 2007년 이후로 매해 1000명이 넘는 교육자들이 참석하였으며 2010년에 1550명을 넘어섰다. 코테솔학술대회는 진정한 국제 학술대회이다. 2012년 학술대회의 발표자는 한국에서 영어교육에 종사하는 분들이 100여명이었고 해외에서 온 분들은 그 이상이었다. 코테솔학회 국제학술대회는 항상 한국의 영어교육학술대회 시즌 한가운데인 10월의 어느 주말에 개최된다. 코테솔 가을 학술대회는 3번(1993년 익산, 1997년 경주, 2000년 대구) 외에는 서울에서 개최되었다. 코테솔국제학술대회는 영어교육과 응용언어학의 분야에서 세계의 가장 유명한...
