Message from the Conference Chair
The Korea TESOL International Conference Committee is proud and excited to welcome you and let you know what’s in store for you at this year’s international conference. This year’s conference promises future memories and a glimpse of what KOTESOL will look like in the coming years.

This workshop will look at error correction and is equally applicable to young learners as it is to older ESL students.
It will look at some of the common errors that students make while speaking as well as appropriate techniques for correcting these. It will also discuss when exactly to correct based on the kind of task students are undertaking, i.e. whether the task focuses on accuracy (practice) or fluency (production).

TEC Print Error - "Remail" forthcoming
To all KOTESOL members,
In our current (winter) issue of The English Connection, there were numerous print production errors that make it unreadable. These errors were of a technical nature and were not detected and corrected by our printing shop in time. They will have to reprint and reship all the issues to you, our members, at their expense. On behalf of myself, and the staff of TEC, we apologize for any inconvenience this causes. We realize that TEC is an important membership benefit, and we are tryingour best to make sure it goes out to you.

2013 KOTESOL Web Training
The webmasters for the regional KOTESOL chapters joined the Leadership Retreat (LR) on Sunday, 13th January (hosted at Korea National University of Education - 한국교원대학교 in Cheongwon) for intensive training in using all the features of the new KOTESOL website, www.koreatesol.org.
The web developer, Sean Barber, flew in from the USA to lead the training in person, assisted by John Phillips (Tech Chair) and facilitated by Bryan Stoakley (Webservices Chair).

The theme this year will be “Effective English Teaching by Finding Cultural Middle Ground". Our plenary is Lynne Kim from Seon Moon University. Daejeon-Chungcheong Chapter Picnic

Summer's here, so it's time for the Daejeon-Chungcheong Chapter's annual picnic!
The picnic will take place on 1pm Sunday, June 9, on the Gapcheon (Gap River), just outside of the Gapcheon Subway Station (갑천 115).
The chapter will provide burgers and hot dogs. Bring whatever else you want to eat/drink, as well as stuff for any sports you wish to play.
