Melvin Dixon moved to South Korea in 2006. He currently works at Gyeonggi University of Science and Technology, where he teaches and works in the Global Education Center, preparing students for work and study abroad.  Melvin is vice president of the Seoul Chapter, a frequent workshop presenter, and a contributor to KOTESOL Voices.

Travis Frank

Travis Frank is a South African English teacher who has been teaching in Korea since 2016. He holds a Master of Arts in TESOL degree from Woosong University and is intent on progressing onto doctoral studies in the near future. His research interests encapsulate exploring literature as an intercultural communicative bridge, as well as examining the extent unto which ESL textbooks embolden unfounded stereotypical sentiments of cultural and racial superiority. They were chosen to host the 2019 KOTESOL National Conference and really gave it their all; welcoming teachers from far and wide to experience excellent presentations to invigorate their teaching practice. 

In the spring, they treated us with workshop presentations by Sam Costa, Rachel Barker, Betsey Norman, and Ehean Kim. The presentations encompassed topics such as: classroom management skills, assessment as part of the learning process, project based learning, and fun ways to enrich vocabulary.
