What happened?
A technical vulnerability left the KOTESOL website open to a “link spam injection attack.” This led to inappropriate text and links appearing on some webpages.What is a “link spam injection attack”?
This is an attack on a website where a bot or paid scammer attempts to inject or push content into a webpage using scripts designed to exploit a technical vulnerability. If anyone is thinking of proposing amendments to the KOTESOL Constitution and Bylaws, you are reminded that any 5 members can propose amendments, but due to the need to circulate proposals to members (more than) 30 days in advance of the Annual Business Meeting (where proposals are voted upon), proposals should be submitted not later than September 13th (Tuesday) 10pm Korea Standard Time. (the proposals time has been extended)

Bylaws update
The KOTESOL Bylaws (not Constitution) were amended at the 2014 KOTESOL Annual Business Meeting, but somehow that amendment was never incorporated into the text.
It is now. Bylaws Article X. Amendments.
These Bylaws may be amended by a three-fifths (3/5) majority majority vote of the members present at an ABM, provided that written notice of the proposed changes has been endorsed by at least five (5) members in good standing and has been distributed to all members at least thirty (30) days prior to the vote.

of the motion to amend the KOTESOL Constitution, specified below, to be voted upon at the KOTESOL Annual Business Meeting scheduled for Sunday, October 11 at 16:50 within the KOTESOL International Conference venue at COEX (Seoul),
having met the provisions for endorsement and notice under Constitution Article VIII.

Membership in the KOTESOL National Council evolves over several phases:
