About the Workshop

Active listening can involve a range of skills beyond simply paying close attention and recalling what was said. Listeners can support speakers through short responses and questions, and they can use clarification questions or paraphrasing to resolve gaps in comprehension. In a discussion or in mediation, skilled listeners may help speakers identify their emotions and values or articulate reasons for their positions. This workshop will demonstrate a number of short, focused activities that invite listeners to practice responding to speakers in different ways. The activities were designed for high-beginning to high-intermediate university students in listening and speaking classes.

About the Wine Tasting & Social

Enjoy a sampling of six wines (3 red, 2 white, 1 rosé), all reasonably priced at local shops, to find your favorites!
Free for KOTESOL members; 5,000 won for non-members
Register here by September 15 (so we can make sure we have enough wine and snacks).
(Disclaimer: Um, we don't actually know much about wine, so this will be more of a "drink and see what you like" social rather than a more enlightening guided tasting!)
