Join us for our next event!

Long-time KOTESOL contributor and all-around amazing person Kara Waggoner will be joining us from afar to help us get organised. This session will be of special interest to those of us who use Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Zoom link will be provided closer to the event time.

Abstract

According to LinkedIn, there are many benefits for both students and parents when a teacher’s LMS (Learning Management System) is well organized. A streamlined LMS or webpage can guide students to the work and information they need quickly and can help teachers decrease the cognitive load that comes with planning and preparation. This session will provide attendees with ideas to best organize the important information and resources in a way that is efficient and allows for users to easily navigate their LMS or webpage. Topics covered will include strategies for introducing yourself to your students, ways in which information can be sorted, and the concept of “shows vs stows.” Attendees will also have an opportunity to share their own best practices with other participants.
