This month's meeting will start with a workshop by our Immediate Past President, Allison Bill.
Title: What colour is your personality - and other ideas that work!
Abstract: You already have a textbook for your class, but it's getting boring...
You don't know how to spice it up...
You want to get your students out of their seats and interacting with each other…
Here are a bunch of activities that will get your students talking, such as when they debate whether liking the colour red makes them aggressive. The activities are a break from the book, and they are ready for you to take into your classroom on Monday morning. Some can be used as ice-breakers, or as a way to move students into new groups. Others can be used for longer group work.
I have used these activities with middle school students, with university students, as well as with in-service teachers. They can be adapted to match students of almost any age or ability level. The students have fun with them, and so do I.
Be prepared to participate in partner and group work in this workshop.
What colour is YOUR personality?

Elections, Reflections & Projections: looking back on the year and making plans for next
Overview: We’ll celebrate the highlights of this past year, elect new chapter officers, and as a group outline hopeful plans for 2025. This is a chance to reflect on our successes - with KOTESOL and also in our own classrooms, to help shape the direction of the chapter and get involved in planning the upcoming year’s initiatives. Don't miss out on this opportunity to contribute your ideas to make next year even better.
We look forward to seeing you there and hearing your voice!
