Gerd Leonhard

The 28th International Korea TESOL conference committee is proud to announce that our keynote speaker this year will be Gerd Leonhard ~ and by proud we mean "Oh-boy-are-we-ever-excited"!!

Gerd is a professional virtual keynote speaker and futurist, among other things.

He has been giving virtual and in-person keynotes worldwide for over 20 years, having spoken in over 60 countries to a combined audience of over 2.5 million people. His keynotes are custom-tailored and professionally designed in his Switzerland studio. He will bring to our conference "a unique immersive experience" that has us feeling very enthusiastic!

Gerd is also a futurist and humanist, which is to say that he thinks and speaks on topics such as "the future of humanity and technology, digital ethics, [and] artificial intelligence." This means that he can speak to the theme of the conference from the perspective of someone outside ELT, something that many attendees have requested. We're going to be working with Gerd — and our KOTESOL members! — to develop a presentation that will be one of the most memorable in KOTESOL's history!

We realize that not everyone will be familiar with futurism, so we'll be adding content to the site in the weeks leading up to the conference in order to give our attendess a chance to see what it's all about, as well as submit questions. Maybe Gerd will answer your question!
