In April, Yongin Chapter will go on a field trip to Insadong in Seoul. We are honored to present a workshop in cooperation with Kotesol Seoul Chapter. Our speaker Rhea Metituk is well-known in the Kotesol community as she was the National Conference 2021 Committee Chair.

Abstract
Finding topics that drive conversations for university aged students is a factor language teachers should carefully consider. One hot topic heard in Korea on TV dramas, seen on bus ads, and from the mouths of our students these days is MBTI, a personality typing system which analyzes the psyche according to four basic functions forming 16 types. The presentation will include a short overview of the MBTI obsession in Korea and how the presenter uses it and other topics in creating questions for discussion. The session will be interactive and participants will be invited to share ideas from their classrooms that get students talking.
Biographical Information
Rhea Metituk is an assistant professor at Myongji University in Seoul. She has a BA in psychology and an MA in English education with a concentration on writing and digital media. She has been an educator for over twenty years and has taught speaking, writing, business English, presentation skills, creative film-making, and TOEIC listening to university students. Rhea has presented in Korea, Japan, and Malaysia, and her interests include media literacy, psychology, metacognition, creativity, and well-being.
