Title: Task Based Learning: Attending to Students' Needs
Abstract: Textbooks have an important place within the class but they can set up limitations for us and the students. The target language, structures and functions set out can be not only limiting but unrealistic as well. They can also restrict student engagement with the language they have been introduced to and use. In this workshop, I want to show how Task-based Learning can help students expand upon what they already know but also to allow them to help guide us as teachers to fulfill their language needs.
