Meet-Up in Cheonan!

Greetings fellow Daejeon-Chungcheong KOTESOL Chapter member!

Please join us for any/all of the following events in Cheonan on Saturday April 8th! Feel free to bring any non-members with you as well – this is a great chance for them to meet us and see if the KOTESOL group is something they might want to join. We are always looking to meet likeminded people, and get new ideas for events that will help English teachers in Korea provide the best possible education for our students – while having a great time hanging out with each other! Please encourage English teachers you know in Cheonan, Cheongju, Daejeon, Sejong, and all adjacent areas, to “like” the “Kotesol: Daejeon-Chungcheong Chapter” Facebook page to keep up-to-date about events! The rest of our calendar for this year has numerous networking opportunities such as local/national/international conferences, workshops, outdoor activities, and holiday parties.

Saturday April 8th Events in Cheonan:

• INEXPENSIVE BOOKS IN ENGLISH! - There is a great used book store in Cheonan called Ebony and Ivory. It is right next to the side-by-side bus terminal there. A group from the Daejeon-Chungcheong KOTESOL Chapter plans to meet at Ebony and Ivory on Saturday the 8th from 6:30-7:15pm. Many of us teachers love to read – and this store is an oasis filled with inexpensive travel guides, novels, non-fiction books, children’s books, and more! Bring some money for books, but expect to pay a fraction of what you would pay at most Korean bookstores for books in English.

• DINNER AND LESSON IDEA SHARING! After sharing book recommendations and stocking up on reading materials, the Daejeon-Chungcheong KOTESOL Chapter will enjoy dinner together within walking distance of the Cheonan side-by-side bus terminals (most likely at a fabulous Indian restaurant but it will depend on the group consensus that night). We will “go Dutch” so you don’t have to share your food if you aren’t into that, but as we are all teachers, we plan to freely share some of our greatest lessons, and get ideas from others on any things we want extra tips about improving in our classes. Dinner will be from about 7:30-9pm.

• FREE COMEDY NIGHT! Stand Up Seoul is putting on a FREE comedy show at Club Used in Cheonan (also within walking distance of the side-by-side bus terminals). The Daejeon-Chungcheong KOTESOL Chapter is full of teachers who love to laugh. Why not join us as we enjoy this show together? Doors open at 9pm, and the show will start at 10pm. The show is scheduled to end at midnight.* 
 *NOTE: Please be aware that many buses and trains from Cheonan stop running before midnight, so plan your transportation/sleeping arrangements with that in mind!
