KOTESOL is pleased to announce a collaboration with two local non-profit organizations for a fundraiser (KOTESOL Gives Back!) at the International Conference on October 12-13 at Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul.
Over two days, leaders from the Teach North Korean Refugees Global Education Center (TNKR) and the Korea Unwed Mothers’ Families Association (KUMFA) will discuss their invaluable work, the impact of free English education and how others can get involved to make a difference.
TNKR’s mission statement is “to assist North Korean refugees in preparing for their future and transitioning to life outside of North Korea by providing them with free English learning opportunities.” More information on TNKR can be found online at www.lovetnkr.org.
“KUMFA advocates for the rights of unwed mothers and their children in Korea. Its goal is to enable Korean women to have sufficient resources and support to keep their babies so that mother and child can thrive in Korean society.” Their website can be found at www.kumfa.or.kr.
