We teach English. We push our students to study hard. We want them to be successful at learning a second language. But how about YOU? When was the last time you studied a foreign language?
Maybe you have not studied a language since high school or university. That might have been French, Spanish, or German. Perhaps you have been learning Korean, Japanese, or Chinese.
The Reflective Practice Special Interest Group challenges you to get back into study mode—commiserate with your students and experience the triumphs and tribulations of learning another language.
The 2024 Rosetta Challenge is a practical opportunity to revisit your core beliefs about language learning. As the ol’ saying goes, this is where rubber meets the road. Of course, you have an educational philosophy based on the theoretical underpinnings of your teacher education courses. But theory and practice are paths that often diverge in the thick of the woods.
Step 1: Let’s get organized on November 15 and iron out a plan.
