About us: The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Chapter of Korea TESOL serves the ELT community in Daegu and the greater Gyeongsangbuk-do area with monthly meetings to share information about English language teaching, engage in professional development, and to socialize with like-minded folks.

Directions:
From Banwoldang Subway Station, walk through the underground and take the escalator to the left in front of Hyundai Department Store (HDS), exit 18. Do not enter HDS.
Walk across the front of HDS and turn right. Head to the front corner of Sh Bank (수협 은행), behind HDS. Daegu Oriental Medicine Street is there, turn left. You can find our meetings at The Ecology Oriental Wellness Experience Center, Namseong-ro 24. It is directly across the street from the First Presbyterian Church of Daegu and the Oriental Medicine Museum.
Go down the flat stone sidewalk to the back of the building. Then walk up the outdoor steps to the second floor conference room. There is a Da Hyang coffee/tea shop on the first floor.

November Workshop:
Spirituality: Addressing the Semblance and Authenticity as Educators by Maninderpal Saini
Bio:
After completing his MBA in the UK, Maninderpal first arrived in South Korea in 2009. Since then he has amassed teaching experience in public schools, hagwons, adult academies, teaching free English to under privileged kids and universities alike. He has taught in Kyungpook National University, and also taught a specialized course in Business at Yeungjin College. His current research interests include; entrepreneurship, change management, work place commitment and spiritual in business. He currently resides in Daegu and has been practicing the art of meditation for over a decade.
Workshop:
As spirituality and its connection to learning remains an underrated and unrecognized component in teaching. I wish in my session to highlight the notability and preponderance of such a theme. The session itself shall need an allocation of approximately 40 minutes. Participants will work together to establish each other’s own experience relating to spirituality and whether it took form of a learning experience (in class) or not. The session will also produce practical and grounded approaches/principles that may be applied to learning environments. Participants may take these away and enhance their own professional development that is congruent with the subject being presented.
