About the Workshop

Among ELT professionals, a growing awareness of issues related to social justice and peacebuilding in their contexts has led to increased efforts at integrating knowledge from peace education, peace linguistics, and peacebuilding fields. This workshop focuses on the intentional development of skills for peacebuilding that builds on language skills ELT practitioners already model and teach in their contexts. After a brief discussion of rationale and definitions of key terms, participants will be guided in reflecting on peacebuilding skills in their teaching contexts. They will then practice peacebuilding skills to collaborate in designing an example of integrating these skills intentionally into their classrooms. Further resources for learning and practice will be shared.

About the Year-End Party

At our year-end social gathering, we'll take some time to socialize, relax, recognize volunteers, and perhaps play a few online games! Bring your own festive libations and snacks.
