Abstract
Are you a 21st Century teacher? A few years ago, the idea of 21st Century skills hit the ELT scene and it caused quite a stir. Some educators loved the idea of transforming the traditional ELT classroom into an oasis of modern learning. Others scoffed at the idea: how could 21st Century skills be any different to those in 1999? That stir has long lost its motion and now it is widely accepted that all (good) lessons should incorporate such skills. Whether they are unique to this century or not, educators everywhere are encouraged to include them. In this talk, we will not only cover what 21st Century skills are, but also look at numerous, practical ways to use them in our lesson plans.
Bio
Wayne Finley has taught his entire career in the 21st Century. At present, he calls Korea Polytechnic University his home, where he teaches English conversation and an elective course on 21st Century skills. In his free time, he enjoys making videos, and last year he released a 5.5-hour video course to help teachers use the 4Cs in their lesson plans.
