Classroom Observation Program: Volunteer Here

Welcome to the Open Door Classroom Observation Program! This initiative is designed to facilitate connections between members who wish to observe classes and members who are willing to let themselves be observed, as well as members who wish to be observed and receive feedback from other members. (Note: The form below is for experienced teachers who wish to volunteer as hosts/observers. If you would like to request to be paired with a volunteer, please fill out our online request form.)

We're currently seeking KOTESOL members in Korea who have been teaching for 3+ years and who are willing to open their classrooms to other KOTESOL members, or who are willing to observe a fellow member and provide requested feedback on his/her teaching. If you're willing to do either one, please join our database! Just fill out the form below. When a member contacts us seeking to observe (or be observed by) someone with your particular characteristics (age/level of learners, province, etc.), we'll put them in touch with you. Then you can work with that person directly to find a time and date that is convenient for both of you. (If it's not convenient, just say no!)

NOTE: By providing us with your contact information, you agree to let us contact you with requests from other members who wish to observe someone with your particular characteristics (age/level of learners, province). You agree to respond to observation requests in a timely manner, even if it's just to decline. You also agree to seek permission from your school prior to each visit.

Remember, the rules of professional conduct dictate that you should receive consent from your employer before inviting outside visitors!

KOTESOL only facilitates contact between observer and observed and can't be held responsible for failed connections; however, we also want this program to be of the highest quality. Any volunteers who consistently fail to respond to requests in a timely manner, or who fail to meet their duties as a host (e.g., fail to get permission from their institution, fail to show up for pre-arranged meetings, etc.) will be removed from the program.
