01. President

Lindsay Herron was first vice-president of KOTESOL before becoming president in 2015. She has been on the International Conference Committee since 2012, serving as Registration Chair for the 2013-2015 conferences. She has been chair of the Membership Committee since 2014 and is also the Gwangju-Jeonnam chapter treasurer. 02. First Vice-President

Dr. David E. Shaffer is an early member of Korea TESOL and a long-term resident of Gwangju, where his career has been as a professor on the English Department faculty at Chosun University. He holds a PhD in Linguistics (theoretical) but has done much of his more recent research in applied linguistics and SLA, as well as in TESOL, in which he holds advanced certificates. 03. Second Vice-President

Ingrid Zwaal is currently a member of the faculty at Jeonju University. Before that, she spent sixteen years at Jeonju National University of Education. Ingrid has an MS in education (secondary English) from Canisus College (USA). She has been a member of KOTESOL since 1998, a presenter since 1999, president of JeonjuㅡNorth Jeolla Chapter six times, and the stage manager at the International Conference for a dozen years. 04. Treasurer

Phil Schrank has been a member of KOTESOL since 2013. He has served on the International Conference Registration team (2013) and as the Associate Editor of TEC (2013-2014). He is currently the facilitator of the Content-Based Instruction SIG. Phil came to Korea in 2009 and has been an instructor of American studies at Korea Military Academy since 2013. 05. Secretary

Christopher Miller has been involved in ELT for nearly a decade. He began his career in Peace Corps Moldova in 2007 and holds an MSEd in TESOL from Shenandoah University. He has been active in KOTESOL for the last five years at both the chapter and national levels. His research interests include quantifying the benefits of teacher reflection. 06. Past President

Peadar Callaghan completed his two-year term as KOTESOL president in 2015. Prior to that, he was 1st Vice-President and Daegu-Gyeongbuk Chapter President. He graduated from the University of Limerick with an MA in ELT. Presently, Peadar is teaching at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Peadar's academic interests include incorporating comics and gamification into English language teaching materials and techniques.

10. International Conference Committee Chair

Sean O'Connor has been a member of KOTESOL for many years. He has served on the KOTESOL International Conference Committee (ICC) since 2001. For most of those years, he served as director of the Technical Team. His ICC service earned him an Outstanding Service Award from the ICC chair in 2013 and a President's Award in 2015. 11. International Conference Committee Co-chair

Kathleen Kelley has been teaching in Korea since 2011. She is presently on the faculty at Andong National University. Before that she taught in a public middle school and elementary school in Busan. Kathleen has been a KOTESOL member since 2013. She has a master’s degree in marketing and communication. Kathleen was Busan-Gyeongnam Chapter president in 2015-16 and is also serving as Publicity Committee chair. She will be the 2018 Korea TESOL International Conference chair.

Mike Peacock is an instructor at Woosong Culinary College in Daejeon. He received his MA in TESOL-MALL from Woosong University. Mike received his BEd (Elementary Education & Teaching) and BA (Psychology) from Crandall University. He loves to promote professional development and the KOTESOL community. 14. Membership Committee Chair

Lindsay Herron has been chair of the Membership Committee since 2014. She arrived in Korea in 2005 and has been teaching at Gwangju National University of Education since 2008. Lindsay is also KOTESOL National President and Gwangju-Jeonnam Chapter treasurer. She has master’s degrees in language education and cinema studies, a CELTA, and a CELTA YL-Extension. 15. International Outreach Committee Chair

Allison Bill started her own second language learning at age five. She completed her BEd in elementary French education at the University of Ottawa and her MA TESL/TEFL at St. Michael’s College in Vermont (USA). She is currently studying for her EdD at Anaheim University. Allison has been president of Jeonju-North Jeolla Chapter and chair of the Korea TESOL International Conference (2006). 16. Technologies Committee Chair

John Phillips is a long-time member of KOTESOL and a long-time chair of the Technologies Committee. He is presently an independent computer and network specialist and has spent many years working for Fulbright Korea. John has also served on the Technical Team of many KOTESOL international Conference committees.

17. Publicity Committee Chair

Kathleen Kelley has been teaching in Korea since 2011. She is presently on the faculty at Andong National University. Before that she taught in a public middle school and elementary school in Busan. Kathleen has been a KOTESOL member since 2013. 18. Research Committee Chair

Christopher Miller has been involved in ELT since 2007. He has an MSEd (TESOL) from Shenandoah University and teaches at Daeil Foreign Language High School in Seoul. In addition to being Research Committee chair, Chris is treasurer of the Seoul Chapter and National Secretary. He has also served as associate editor of KOTESOL's The English Connection (TEC).   He is a frequent presenter at KOTESOL events and elsewhere.

19. Financial Affairs Committee Chair

Stafford Lumsden is the coordinator of the Online TESOL program at Sookmyung Women's University, where he also teaches Curriculum Design and Lesson Planning in the YL-TESOL program. In the past, he has served as the president of the Seoul Chapter of KOTESOL (2012-2014), chair of the KOTESOL National Conference (2015), and in various roles for the KOTESOL International Conference since 2008. Stafford received his MA in TESOL and applied linguistics from Victoria University of Wellington and is now in Macquarie University's PhD program.

30. Busan-Gyeongnam Chapter President

Ian Adkins is an English teacher for the Gimhae public middle schools. He has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Valparaiso University, and he has a Master of TESOL and Assessment degree from Missouri Western State University. His main topics of interest are foreign language anxiety and hidden literacies. 31. Daegu-Gyeongbuk Chapter President

Jeroen "Chop" Root is currently a visiting professor at Kyungpook National University in Daegu. He completed his MA in TESOL at the University of Auckland, New Zealand in 2012. His professional interests include second-language reading and writing, project-based learning, assessment, and gifted education as well as reflective practice and teacher development. 33. Gangwon Chapter President

Michael Free is from Canada (Toronto and Montréal). He holds two master's degrees: in TEFL (University of Birmingham) and Arts (McMaster University). Michael has worked in Korea for more than ten years, primarily within the public school system, and always in the beautiful, spacious province of Gangwon. He is very active in professional development, organizing and presenting at conferences large and small, and doing teacher-training sessions whenever feasible. 34. Gwangju-Jeonnam Chapter President

Bill Mulligan has worked in Korea as a teacher for over a decade. He has been a proud member of KOTESOL since 2009. In that time, he has served as National Membership Committee chair, and editor-in-chief of The English Connection (TEC). After serving on the National Council for two years, Bill decided that he wanted to focus more on working with his local chapter, serving as vice-president before becoming chapter president. He has also been a very active member of the International Conference Committee. He has lived in Gwangju for over seven years with his wife and son.

Christine Gallagher is a visiting professor in the Department of English Education at Jeju National University in Jeju City. She served as the vice-president of KOTESOL's Jeju Chapter before taking over as president.

37. Seoul Chapter President

Dr. Ian Done D. Ramos is a professor in the Department of English and Literature at the University of Suwon. He completed his doctorate in English language teaching (EdD ELT) and also has a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MA TESOL), a Special Education diploma in Learning Disabilities (SpEd LD), and a Bachelor of Secondary Education in English (BSEd-English). 38. Suwon-Gyeonggi Chapter President

Tyler Clark has spent the past decade teaching English to a wide variety of learners in South Korea. He is currently a lecturer at Gyeongin National University of Education's Incheon campus, a position he has held since 2009 and that primarily sees him instructing university freshman in conversational English skills. In addition to this, he spends time working with teacher trainees in the Intensive English Teacher Training Program at Gyeongin. 39. Yongin-Gyeonggi Chapter President

Martin Todd received his BA from Dalhousie University. Since arriving in Korea in 1995, Martin has held positions at a number of universities, including KAIST and Korea University. As a KOTESOL member, he has been on the Yongin Chapter executive for over three years, serving as 1st and 2nd Vice-President, and chapter conference co-chair for three years before becoming chapter president. Martin is presently a self-employed ELT professional in the Suwon area and doing graduate studies at Kyung Hee University.
